The GAÏDZ PhD Scholarship is happy to announce the opening of the application for the 2026–2027 academic year. We are seeking dedicated and gifted graduate students who are passionate about the Armenian Bible and its impact on theology, culture, and history, and who are pursuing their PhD dissertation research in a field associated with the Armenian version of the Bible. Timothy B. Sailors is the recipient of the first GAÏDZ Scholarship Grant for PhD dissertation writing in the field of the Armenian version of the Bible. A PhD candidate at the Eberhard-Karls- Universität Tübingen University, Timothy is working on offering a fresh reassessment of early Armenian Gospel traditions through a focused study of the baptism of Jesus, incorporating evidence from the Armenian Gospels, the Armenian witnesses to Ephrem’s Commentary on the Diatessaron, and the Armenian translation of the Testaments of the Twelve Patriarchs. By integrating Greek, Syriac, and Armenian sources, he highlights how Armenian texts preserve distinctive readings essential for reconstructing early Christian traditions and underscores the urgent need for new critical editions of the Armenian Bible. Application deadline: January 1, 2026. Further details about the application and to download the application forms, visit the gaidz.net website. Submit applications to: grants@gaidzfoundation.com. This scholarship has the power to transform lives and advance scholarship for the benefit of all.
